The University of Minnesota Mens Lacrosse Team is a highly competitive program, operating under the Sports Club Department at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. The Sport Clubs program provides high quality competitive and instructional sport opportunities for members of the University community. Ultimately, Sport Clubs enhance the collegiate and educational experiences of their members. The competitive aspect of the Clubs allows their members to compete against other intercollegiate sport teams, while the instructional aspect of Clubs offers members the chance to enhance their skills in a sport activity.
The University of Minnesota Mens Lacrosse Team competes against nationally ranked opponents, as we seek to improve the quality of our play by playing the against only the best competetion. Incorporating players primarily from Minnesota, but drawing from across the Midwest, the team is a Division 1 member of the Upper Midwest Lacrosse League, which includes teams from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and North Dakota. Our national governing body is the Mens Collegiate Lacrosse Association, and we compete each year with the goal of winning the National Championship.
The University of Minnesota Lacrosse Team is unique in that we welcome atheletes who are new to the game. The challenges a college athelete faces when learning a completely new sport are at times overwhelming, but our belief is that anyone who is willing to put in the work can earn a place within our family. Whether you've been playing lacrosse your whole life or never picked up a stick before, you play a role in our orginization. All we ask is that you fully commit yourself to our team, the values our team embodies, and the competitive spirit that is the Minnesota Lacrosse Family.
